Vesak Festival 2012
Sri Lanka Buddhist Vihara will be celebrating the Vesak for the year 2012 on Saturday the 5 May 2012 at No. 30 Jenke Cct. Kambah. The program commence at 5.30 pm and continue until 9.00 pm.
The program for the day starts with offerings to Lord Buddha followed by the official opening of the large Pandol (Thorana), lighting the Vesak lanterns, Devotional singing by Children and community groups and a stage drama by the children of the ASLBA’s Dhamma and Sinhala Language school.
As usual, there will be a Food Fair to the public selling Hoppers, Short-eats, Thosai, Kotthu roti and stuffed gothamber roti etc.
ASLBA would like to cordially welcome you and the general public to participate in this event and view the colourful decorations/lights and enjoy favourite Sri Lankan food.

Mahamevnawa Dhamma Program - Sunday 1st April 2012
The monthly Dhamma program in Canberra conducted by the Pinwath Swameen Wahanse from Mahamevnawa Asapuwa. This program includes two Dhamma Sermons, Guided Meditation sessions and a question and answer session for you to ask Dhamma questions from the Ven Bhanthe.
We invite you to come for the Dhamma program and participate in the meritorious activities at your convenience. The Morning Dhamma Sermon will be held at 8:00 am and the Afternoon Dhamma Sermon will be held at 1.00 pm. This is a rare opportunity for all of us to listen to the Sri Saddharmaya.

Anniversary Celebration - Saturday 31st March 2012
Our newly built temple was ceremonially opened at a auspicious time on 29 March 1996. Since then we have been celebrating this occasion annually.
This year, Australia Sri Lanka Buddhist Association (ASLBA) celebrates its 16th anniversary on Saturday 31 March 2012 from 6:30 to 7:30pm by conducting the following religious activities:
- Gilanpasa Pooja;
- Chanting Seth Pirith; and
- Anusasana by our resident monks.
ASLBA coordially invite all well-wishers to come and participate in this meritorious activity.

Dhamma Talk by Hon. Athraliye Rathana Thero - Sunday 25th March 2012
Hon. Athraliye Rathana Thero, a spiritual leader, is in Australia these days and engaged in a Dhamma Desana Charika in main cities such as Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane etc. The Thero is visiting Canberra too and Dhamma Talk of the Thero will be held on Sunday the 25th March at 6.30 P.M. at Kambha Buddhist Temple (30 Jenke Circuit Kambah). “We’ll see the world through Dhamma” is Thero’s topic of the sermon.
